Hello from the NW US

Post by Kane on Mon Dec 14, 2009 10:10 am

Hey, folks! I go by Kane or alternately KaneBlaireau or Mraz. Some people call me Matt. I'm a lifelong role-player and wargamer. Started when I was ten and been going for 21 years now. Started wargaming with (oddly enough) Marvel Super Heroes RPG. I play most of the GW games off and on. Would love to play AT-43 and Confrontation but theirs no local community of players.

Anyway, been writing my own RPG rules set off and on for about 19 years now. Its steadily shifted as I've become more experienced with various systems. Have made a couple aborted attempts at writing wargames, but could never get anyone else interested in playing. Anyway, hopefully I will have some useful input for this project!

Hey Kane.
Same problems at attempting a new gaming system is pretty much universal, hence new games systems don't come along often! But hecy, what's internet for if not enabling stuff like this?

May have to check out the rules re: your avatar - hellboy rocks, but as I'm currently muddling through the legal morass of IP law concerning the site, and project. Just to stay on the side of right.

Fair enough. Had not considered applying that to avatars, but better safe and all that.

Welcome,
I know what you mean about no-one being interested. It's a stereotype that any game made by a single person for free, instead of a company that sells it for oodles of cash, must be bad or poorly written. Shame really, but hopefully this being a community might change their minds...maybe.

It was the open-source community of software that got me thinking about it in the first place. OpenOffice, GIMP, Mozilla, etc.

How could it not be applied to the roll of a dice.
