Re: Website Ideas
I've been unexpectedly flown out to visit family, so the site is being placed on hold until I get back to my computer.
However, I did fix the voting issue, and changed out the banner, since those were pretty simple things.

Re: Website Ideas
Sorry all, I've been a bit busy for awhile and haven’t posted.
The website looks great. I suggest we should move some of the rule stuff (that is has been generated) across to it.

Re: Website Ideas
OK! I've finally got something going here, and it's far enough that we can start adding some content on there.
Completed:
-Editing of main pages and notices (welcome page, terms of service, FAQs, etc.)
-Editing of books (Add/Edit/Delete Pages)
To do (in this order):
-Image uploading and positioning (for page illustrations)
-Finish Comment reporting
-Revision reporting and flagging
-Revision and Comment Editing and Deletion
-Revision Status suggestions (yellow, red, green)
-Finish hints ( [?] )
-last post/thread on user profiles
-avatar uploading
-post counts
-lots of styling and positioning
So still a lot to go,but mostly superficial. Pages are all editable and it can take some content. And now that I'm back in the rhythm of things, it shouldn't be too long to finish.
If anybody is up for it, go ahead and add whatever rules and whatnot you think should go up.

Re: Website Ideas
Just popped up a quick draft of an introduction I've been making, working on rewording my current ruleset for upload. Feel free to criticise!
Re: Website Ideas
Just a thought - any chance of an icon for the books viewing? I'll design one if possible. I'm thinking of redesigning some graphics anyways.
Oh yeah, and I've no idea how to insert graphics.
Also, is there a PDF backend? and can we download/upload files based on that - with formatting and stuff.
I'll download GIMP shortly and make a set of graphics that we can all use and make use of for publishing.

Holy Cow!! You've just been waiting for this haven't you? That's a lot of content in such short time!
Anyway, yeah book icons are possible. Didn't really think about that one so I'll have to add it to the 'To Do' list.
As far as inserting graphics, do you mean like the "Fig 1.1" in the testbook? if so, I'm still working on that. Right now you have to position it manually (by a number of pixels from the top of the page), and I'm working on having some sort of tag in the page text to automatically position the images next to the right paragraph.
And as for PDF backend, there is not one currently. Though a conversion process for uploading/downloading might be possible. I'll look into it when I get there.

Re: Website Ideas
And my plans have been foiled. I spent all weekend trying to get those images to align correctly to no avail. So I gave up and now images just line up on the right side down the page in order.
I haven't uploaded the update yet, because I have started on other things on the to do list, so there are too many loose ends for it to work properly right now.
I expect a good chunk of it to be done by next week though. And now I'm off to sleep at 2am...

Re: Website Ideas
That's cool. If we just add them and reference them (fig1 etc.) they can easily be set out properly in the layout stage - we'll have to layout anyway for page setup etc.
